THE BBC Proms is one of the world’s most fa­mous clas­si­cal mu­sic fes­ti­vals, and it’s held in Lon­don ev­ery year at the Royal Al­bert Hall. Mu­si­cians come from all around the world to per­form, and the con­certs are watched by mil­lions of peo­ple around the globe. Here’s ev­ery­thing you need to know.

The fes­ti­val has never missed a year – not even dur­ing the two world wars. The Proms are 125 years old this year but now, be­cause of COVID-19, every­one is watch­ing and lis­ten­ing to the con­certs at home.

The big­gest ever Proms fan is be­lieved to be a man named Gian­carlo Stop­pini. Even though he lives in Italy, by 2012 he had al­ready at­tended more than 1,800 Proms con­certs!
