THIS WEEK’S HEROES IN THE BATTLE AGAINST BOREDOM
A BUNCH of brilliant people and places are doing their bit to entertain us through summer! This week, here’s what we’ve been enjoying.
The Summer of STEM Challenge has been launched by STEM Learning to keep young minds and bodies active over the break. Each fortnight, a new set of themed challenges and activities will be available on the STEM Learning website. The first was Oceans and the Environment, and Space is up next! Find out more at

Sainsbury’s has launched a 20-day free-toaccess virtual summer club. Led by athletes Ellie Simmonds and Jonnie Peacock, the supermarket’s new Active 20 challenge takes the place of Sainsbury’s usual Active Kids Holiday Clubs. Running until 28 August, each week, new activities and programmes will be added to the company’s Instagram and Pinterest channels.
Explore Learning has launched the Discover More Festival, a series of workshops, live lessons and more! Over August, it’s even hosting a choose-your-own adventure story read by TV’s Steve Backshall. Get involved at
