STEER CLEAR OF THE DEER
RANGERS from the Royal Parks in London are urging people not to feed the deer when they visit this summer.
Feeding the deer teaches them to go to humans for food, which is a bad habit for them to get into. Deer are grazing animals and feed on the grassland, shoots and trees in their habitat, and other food can make them very ill. Deer can be found in many of the UK’s parks and woodlands, including two of the Royal Parks: Richmond Park and Bushy Park. While they may look gentle, deer are unpredictable animals and can cause serious injuries if they feel upset or threatened. It is best to stay at least 50m away from any deer you see.
