Aqua­cul­ture world heads to Mont­pel­lier

THE World Aqua­cul­ture So­ci­ety and Euro­pean Aqua­cul­ture So­ci­ety joint event in Mont­pel­lier in Au­gust has at­tracted more than 150 ex­hibitors as well as a line-up of top Euro­pean sci­en­tists and pro­duc­ers.

To be held over five days, from Au­gust 25-29, AQUA2018 will fea­ture par­al­lel con­fer­ence ses­sions, held in the Corum Con­ven­tion Cen­tre, Mont­pel­lier.

Del­e­gates will also have the op­por­tu­nity to visit the largest re­search in­fra­struc­ture ded­i­cated to mar­i­cul­ture in France in Palavas-les-Flots, a coastal city near Mont­pel­lier.

Speak­ers in­clud­ing EU com­mis­sioner Kar­menu Vella and the FAO’s Árni Mathiesen, along with high-level rep­re­sen­ta­tives from a num­ber of lead­ing aqua­cul­ture coun­tries such as China, Nor­way, Thai­land, Ecuador and Africa, will ad­dress del­e­gates at a spe­cial press con­fer­ence on Mon­day, Au­gust 27, at the con­ven­tion cen­tre.

And dur­ing the fol­low-up re­cep­tion, guests will be able to sam­ple se­lected aqua­cul­ture prod­ucts pre­pared by chef Jac­ques Pour­cel.
