Peo­ple around the world eat in­sects, yet in Europe and the US, creepy-crawlies do not com­prise a ma­jor part of the diet. None­the­less, there has been in­creas­ing in­ter­est in eat­ing them, as they are packed with protein and re­quire few re­sources. As well as be­ing full of nu­tri­ents, they may also en­cour­age the growth of ben­e­fi­cial bac­te­ria in our guts.
