Sponsorship deals in Sunday League have long been the turf of the local builder and restaurateur, so when adverts for a sex club appeared on shirts in the East Midlands, eyebrows (among certain other appendages) were inevitably raised.

‘Club Paradise For Swingers’ – alluring name – first struck up a shirt advertising deal with Long Eaton outfit Chilwell FC.

“The club’s owner is a mate of mine,” explains Ady Bott, former Chilwell club secretary. “It’s a nice place to go to relax.”

Not everyone was titillated by the new partnership, though. Ex-player-manager James Hunter – far too mortified by the memories to speak on the phone – told FFT on Twitter that the players had been “forced to wear the kit and humiliated every weekend, and even offered ‘freebies’ to reward wins.”

Chilwell FC have since folded (out of embarrassment, we think), so the swinger shirts are now being worn by Bott’s new club, Infam Celtic.

Sexy football, eh?
