The 1930 World Cup was a cel­e­bra­tion of South Amer­i­can foot­ball. To show some ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the hosts, Bo­livia’s squad gath­ered be­fore their first group-stage clash against Yu­goslavia to sport the mes­sage ‘Viva Uruguay’ on their tops. Or at least that’s what they in­tended. One player, wear­ing a cru­cial let­ter ‘U’, was miss­ing for the photo shoot, with the snap­per fail­ing to clock it as he clicked away.
