EXTEND SQUADS TO 25
With the World Cup fast approaching, managers will soon be selecting their 23-man squads for the finals. But why not let them extend their squads to 25, on the condition that the coach has to select two players from the Under-21 team or below? The players would have to have featured in several competitive games for the U21s or youth sides over a two-year spell to qualify for selection. It would help to put more emphasis on them playing for younger age groups, and enhance their experience for future competitions. Fans love to see a young player emerge at a major tournament, and it would be great to see another Whiteside, Owen, Rooney or even Pele breaking through.
