Head of languages turned round-the-world writer, London-based Solange has always had a love of words, and for people and their stories. She has travelled to the most remote places on Earth, but often goes back to her beloved Calanques, near Marseille. On page 32, she tours rural Limousin in a classic Lancia car.
Robin is a journalist and author of numerous guide books, for Thomas Cook, Frommer’s and Dorling Kindersley. He first visited France in the 1960s and now owns a village home in Languedoc, where he spends his summers. The rest of the time, he lives in Edinburgh. On page 78, he spotlights France’s best fish markets.

Born in Cape Town to Dutch and English parents, Gabriella grew up in six countries, making travel a way of life as well as a passion. She writes about everything from extreme skiing to cruising for titles including The Daily Telegraph, Financial Times and Condé Nast Traveller. On page 60, she goes kayaking in Normandy.
