Solange Berchemin

Head of lan­guages turned round-the-world writer, Lon­don-based Solange has al­ways had a love of words, and for peo­ple and their sto­ries. She has trav­elled to the most re­mote places on Earth, but of­ten goes back to her beloved Calan­ques, near Mar­seille. On page 32, she tours ru­ral Limousin in a clas­sic Lan­cia car.

Robin Gauldie

Robin is a jour­nal­ist and au­thor of numer­ous guide books, for Thomas Cook, From­mer’s and Dor­ling Kin­der­s­ley. He first vis­ited France in the 1960s and now owns a vil­lage home in Langue­doc, where he spends his sum­mers. The rest of the time, he lives in Ed­in­burgh. On page 78, he spot­lights France’s best fish mar­kets.

Gabriella Le Bre­ton

Born in Cape Town to Dutch and English par­ents, Gabriella grew up in six coun­tries, mak­ing travel a way of life as well as a pas­sion. She writes about ev­ery­thing from ex­treme ski­ing to cruis­ing for ti­tles in­clud­ing The Daily Telegraph, Fi­nan­cial Times and Condé Nast Trav­eller. On page 60, she goes kayak­ing in Nor­mandy.
