I Am Not a Witch (from 20 Oc­to­ber) – In this Franco-bri­tish drama, a nine-year-old girl is ac­cused of witch­craft after a mi­nor in­ci­dent in her Zam­bian vil­lage. She is ban­ished to a ‘witch camp’ where cor­rupt of­fi­cials seize the chance to ex­ploit her sup­posed pow­ers.

My Life as a Cour­gette (now avail­able) – Claude Bar­ras’s Os­car-nom­i­nated an­i­mated fea­ture is a touch­ing story of child­hood. Or­phan Icare, nick­named Cour­gette, is sent to a foster home, where he and the other chil­dren learn about the true mean­ing of love and trust.
