’Tis the season…
Anew year is speeding rapidly towards us, with only the indulgence of the festive season to slow its approach. It is a time, perhaps, to tuck in somewhere warm and think about plans for the year ahead, dreaming of the sights, sounds and promises of la belle France.
This issue should hopefully help inspire that next journey (or two), no matter what the weather or your particular sphere of interest. Head to sunny Marseille with Zoë Mcintyre for a short break, take a wander in rural Aveyron with Catriona Burns, let Deborah Nash help you uncover Paris’s secrets or plan a full year of music with our jazz festival calendar from Robin Gauldie.
Winter enthusiasts will enjoy Ben Moore’s piece on family skiing in the Pyrénées, while those looking for something more specifically seasonal should turn to our Christmas gift special and the guide to festive accommodation.
If January looms as a France-free wasteland, why not come to The France Show at Olympia London from 26-28 January? A warm welcome is assured, with wine and food aplenty, if you have not already overindulged. Listen to cycling pundit Ned Boulting sharing his tales of the Tour de France, let crime writer Peter May give you the chills, or watch chef Eric Lanlard weaving his culinary magic. There are plenty more seminars, cookery demonstrations, music and a host of travel and property specialists to visit, and don’t miss the shopping opportunities. Visit thefranceshow.com.
The gorgeous FRANCE Calendar 2018 is still available to buy, too. Turn to page 50 for details.
