Nice, capital of the French Riviera, has the most convenient airport in Europe when it comes to the speed and low cost of getting to the city centre, according to a new study. Travel search engine Goeuro found that passengers took as little as five minutes and paid just £1.59 for the journey from Nice Côte d’azur airport ( pictured). The company, which compares and books transport across Europe, ranked more than 70 airports. Nice was the only one in France to make the top ten. goeuro.co.uk

HYDROGEN TRAMS ON WAY

The city of Pau ( pictured) in the PyrénéesAtlantiques département is introducing hydrogen-fuelled tram-buses within the next two years. Pau will become the first place in France to have the clean-energy hybrid vehicles, which emit only water vapour while in use. The fleet, consisting initially of eight trams, will run on electricity produced in on-board fuel cells containing pressurised hydrogen from renewable sources.
