Grenoble residents live in France’s most family-friendly town, according to new rankings. Online property portal Seloger.com has produced a chart of the top 10 towns for families, based on criteria such as quality of life, schooling opportunities and property prices.
The Isère capital and Alpine gateway came out on top thanks to its quality schools, practical public transport, good location and attractive property prices.
In second place, Rennes was recognised as a safe town with good job opportunities for young parents relocating there, while Toulouse came third thanks to its supply of nursery services.
Nantes, Lyon, Marseille, Angers, Bordeaux and Nice respectively are also widely recognised as places where the quality of life is ideal for raising a family. Paris, for once, brings up the rear of the list, penalised for its expensive property and its distance from large green spaces.
