A Wil­lows are prone to an­thrac­nose dis­ease that can cause pre­ma­ture de­fo­li­a­tion in sum­mer and, if com­bined with other stress might cause the slow death of the trees. Honey fun­gus is another cul­prit, mak­ing bark peel off and a mush­roomy smell. This au­tumn look for honey brown toad­stools in the area.
