JENNY BARNES, STEVENAGE

A These green growths that turn reddish are inedible fruits or camellia apples. Some cultivars, especially singleflowered kinds, set more of these than others, and they might contain large oily seeds. These don’t store well but can be extracted and sown now. They should germinate quite quickly and will produce plants, though they won’t be the same as the parent and will take years to bloom.
