Q Is the white powder on my phlox leaves a problem?

Garden Answers (UK) - - Gourmet Grower - EMMA WILLIAMS, ESSEX

A This is powdery mildew, a common fungal disease on border phlox that’s prevalent when plants are stressed by drought. It’s too late to spray against the disease but you could trim the foliage back if it’s very unsightly. Mulch the plant next year to help keep soil moist and spray with fungicide before the disease appears.
