Trim hedges

-

By the end of the month most young birds should have fledged, so privet, yew, beech, hornbeam and laurel can all be trimmed at any point right through to late summer.

✿ Laurel has large leaves so cutting with a hedge trimmer can slice them in half creating an ugly ragged effect. Tidy up with secateurs for a smarter result.

?? ?? Hedges might be looking a bit shaggy by now, but before you get out the hedge trimmer, make sure there aren’t any birds still nesting in them.
