Most nest cams are based around a convention­al tit box, with typically a 26mm or 29mm diameter hole. However, if you choose a box with a 32mm hole instead, it’ll also be fit for house sparrows, which these days are a Red-listed species.

You might also consider a starling nest box, which has bigger dimensions, including the hole which is 45mm wide (above). Starling numbers have plummeted across the UK so they need our help as much as any other garden bird these days.
