Dahlias got us going

Before lockdown, the most my husband and I did in our garden was mow the lawn, tidy up the edges and the odd bit of weeding. Then my husband bought 10 dahlia seedlings from our neighbour and planted them. I thought they’d be too big and blousy, but how wrong I was – they were the highlight of the year.

We were so inspired by our success that now, with the help of Garden Answers, our next project will be to create a bed and plant it with lupins, hollyhocks and delphiniums grown from seeds harvested from our garden and donated by my sister.
