Grow garlic in modules
Growing garlic in modules is a clever way to give plants a head start, resulting in bigger and be er bulbs. It’s also worthwhile if you have a wet, heavy soil or suffer from cold winters. Using a modular cell tray, insert individual cloves into cells half-filled with multi-purpose compost and cover them with more compost. Place the trays in a cool, airy cold frame, porch or unheated greenhouse and water sparingly to keep the compost just moist. The garlic can be planted outside in March.
