Pick up mouldy fruit

-

Mouldy fruit lying around on the ground or remaining in your trees can become a breeding ground for pests and diseases, such as brown rot, powdery mildew, scab and bitter pit, so clear it away. Wearing gloves, pick shrivelled and rotten fruits off the tree and rake up fallen fruits and diseased leaves. Healthy windfalls can be left on the ground or put out on the bird table. Don’t add diseased material to your compost, put affected fruits and leaves in your council green waste bin.
