Clean bamboo canes

Bamboo cane supports can carry over diseases, so ensure you clean them well before storing them for the winter. Start by removing excess soil with a wire brush, then wipe them with a diluted solution of Jeyes fluid. Rinse that off with hot water and leave to dry before tying in bundles with garden wire or twine. Store them under cover in a dry, airy shed or garage or stand them in a large plastic pot with stones in the base in a sheltered spot to stop them rotting.
