Clear out and dig the greenhouse border

-

It’s time to refresh the soil in your greenhouse border, so pull out the spent crops that were growing there together with their supports and clear away all debris left on the soil. Dig out the top 20cm (8in) of compost and fork over the soil below. Spread fresh compost over the surface and, to help stimulate microbial action, water calcified seaweed into the soil. Top with a layer

of garden soil, multi-purpose compost or leafmould. Every few years dig out and replace all the soil.
