Deadhead your roses

Garden News (UK) - - What To Do This Week -

Many rose bushes struggled a little in the very hot, dry weather and went into a state of semi-dormancy, but the cooler weather and rain in August encouraged them to make fresh new growth and more flower buds. This late flush of roses in the garden is very welcome and if the weather stays mild and sunny they’ll often carry on flowering through until the end of the month or even into early October. To help keep the roses flowering remove faded blooms on a regular basis by cutting or snapping off the old flower heads.
