Lythrum sali­caria

Pur­ple looses­trife pro­duces spires of pur­ple flow­ers from June-Au­gust in damp spots. H: 60cm-1.2m (2-4ft).

Prim­ula veris

Yel­low cowslip flow­ers from April-May to pro­vide bees with early nec­tar. Best in sun or semi-shade. H: 10-20cm (4-8in).
