A welcome attraction

I’m a plant fanatic living in a rented ground-floor flat, but when my partner and I moved in we had no plans for the small, pebbled area at the front. Almost every garden in the street is concreted over, and I assumed ours was the same until I decided to tackle some pesky weeds – to my amazement I found soil under a thick layer of plastic and pebbles.
