‘Ronaldo’ Usually I disapprove of yellow tulips, based on the fact that we have spent the last few weeks looking at daffodils and we deserve a change. I will, however, make an exception for T. ‘ West Point’, it being a very elegant lily-flowered variety whose petals seem to relax outwards as the sun warms the flower. Here it cavorts shamelessly with ‘ Prinses Irene’ (who should know better) and the sultry purplish tones of ‘ Ronaldo’. A wonderful sight – especially teamed with the almost invisible fuzz of fennel foliage, the distant deep pinks of honesty, the blue camassias and all that green promise straining behind the hazel supports. Care Plant a bit later than other bulbs (November). On heavy soils they may lose power over the years, so top up the numbers. Height x Spread 30-50cm x 10cm
