for its heady change of pace
As I get older the passage of the months seems to go faster and faster. Sometimes it seems that I go to sleep on Boxing Day and wake up just as the buds are beginning to break in March. It is all whizzing by – especially when it gets to glorious May. This is a month that I want to savour: to allow it to slowly melt on my senses, like a square of fine chocolate. But the reality is that it is a month of frantic activity – every day there is a new flower, a new sight and a new sensation.
