In small spaces

Using bulbs in compact areas such as around the front door is a great way of putting a smile on your face each day. I tend to choose more delicate bulbs, the ones that are easier to view close up. Dwarf bulbs make a great display, providing colour and interest in containers, window boxes and hanging baskets. After flowering, remove them and replant with your bedding. Since most bulbs bloom for relatively short periods, it can work well to combine more than one type so you can increase your flowering period.
