Plants that make bees app-y

Gardeners' World - - We September -

Gardeners across the UK have been using the Blooms for Bees app, developed by experts at Coventry University, to record sightings of bees and reveal which flowers they visited most. The three most popular blooms this year were viper’s bugloss, teasel and toadflax, while the top three bumblebees spotted were the buff-tailed bumblebee, the common carder bee and the red-tailed bumblebee. More than 500 gardeners took part, from the Isles of Scilly to Orkney, sending in 3,011 photos of bees and 2,218 plant surveys. The app is free to download.
