Look for and gather up any leaves that have fallen from roses infected with blackspot. Yellow leaves with black patches on the upper surface are a sure sign of the fungus, which spends the winter on fallen leaves. Removing them from the garden will help to stop the spread of the disease. Destroy or bin the leaves, rather than composting which would just reinfect your garden in the future.
