Summer mowing

-

Raise the height of your mower’s blades when the weather is hot and dry. The grass in the lawn will be stressed by the hot weather and a short cut will weaken it further.

Mow in different directions to avoid creating tramlines and to vary the compacting footfall as you walk up and down. Once the lawn has had a good drench of rain, you can lower the blades again. A regular session grubbing out the worst of the weeds before mowing will help improve the lawn over time by allowing the grass to grow into the gaps.
