PATTERNS IN NATURE
On the third Sunday of every month until August, Cambridge University Botanic Garden is hosting a free, half-hour Science on Sunday talk on the latest discoveries in plant science. This month, Dr Edwige Moyroud from the university’s plant research unit, the Sainsbury Laboratory, will look into the relationship between plants and pollinators and discuss how flowering plants pattern their petals to send visual signals to crucial pollinating insects. Normal garden admission applies. 20 May, 11am-2pm. For the full Science on Sunday programme visit botanic.cam. ac.uk
Discover how patterns on the petals of Hardenbergia violacea help it to attract pollinators at this month’s Science on Sundays talk.
