Man arrested over assault
DETECTIVES investigating a serious assault alleged to have happened outside Maesteg Community Hospital have made an arrest.
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the incident last Wednesday evening.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said a 44-year-old man from the Llanharry area was taken to Queens Road police station, Bridgend, where he was questioned on suspicion of assault.
The man who was assaulted at around 6.15pm was admitted to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend before being transferred to University Hospital Wales in Cardiff where he remains in a serious condition.
