Fine weather: The local beaches were extremely busy over the bank holiday weekend as we saw the best weather for a very long time.
St Bridget’s Church: The bells rang out for a wedding on August 24 for a local couple. Margam Archdeanery Service at Llandaff Cathedral on Monday, September 11. Harvest Evensong in All Saints, Southerndown, on September 24. Harvest Eucharist in St Bridget’s on October 1 followed by parish lunch in the Church Hall.
Mothers’ Union: Members will meet at 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 12 in St Brides Major Church Hall when Vivien Liles, founder member Soroptimist International, Barry, will be the speaker. There will be a Beetle Drive at 7pm in Cwmogwr, Wyndham, Ogmore Vale, on Friday, September 15.
Heritage coast: A new set of postcards and greetings cards using Paul Dunn’s photographs are available to purchase from the Heritage Coast Centre at Southerndown. Several pop-up events have taken place over the past couple of weeks and will continue until Friday, September 15. To book your place visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/ coastalcommunityarts.
Archive project: Dr Mary Gillham who was a member of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast recorded many aspects of the local countryside, identifying plants and animals and taking photographs, which are being digitised by the South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre. Some of her books are available from the Heritage Coast Centre, Dunraven Bay.
Ewenny Festival: The 20th Anniversary Concert will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 28 in Ewenny Priory. Tickets are priced at £10.
