AN­DREW Hodg­son (Brid­gend) last Satur­day recorded a third suc­ces­sive Porth­cawl 5k Parkrun victory in a time of 17 min­utes 41 sec­onds, writes Tony Poole.

The most suc­cess­ful male com­peti­tor in Porth­cawl Parkrun his­tory – he’s gath­ered 19 wins from 44 starts – fin­ished 54 sec­onds in front of Jor­dan Groves (unat­tached).

On this oc­ca­sion 329 run­ners faced the starter, and other fine runs came from Ian Ed­wards 18:54, Graeme Rand (both unat­tached) per­sonal best (pb) 19:01, Dave Ben­nett (Porth­cawl Run­ners) 19:01, Dafydd Jones 19:23, Peter Johns (both unat­tached) 19:42, Alun Wil­liams (Porth­cawl Run­ners) pb 19:44, Carl Feiven (Cor­nelly Strid­ers) pb 19:54, Rhys Gethin Hard­man (Brid­gend) 19:55 and Joshua Moor­land (unat­tached) 19:55.

Top fe­male fin­isher for a 21st time was Deb­o­rah Goule (Porth­cawl Run­ners) in a pb time of 20:42 (21st) from Fleur Jones pb 20:47 (24th), Cather­ine Stephens (both unat­tached) 21:06 (28th) and Ju­lia Ridge (Brid­gend) 22:32 (57th).
