Chance to ap­ply for job or get train­ing ad­vice at fair

JOB seek­ers are in­vited to a jobs and in­for­ma­tion fair be­ing held on Thurs­day at the Brid­gend Life Cen­tre.

Or­gan­ised by Brid­gend County Bor­ough Coun­cil and Job Cen­tre Plus, the an­nual event in the Bowls Hall be­tween 10am and 1pm will en­able job hunters to dis­cuss em­ploy­ment and vol­un­teer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties with a host of lo­cal em­ploy­ers.

There will be a range of tem­po­rary and perma- nent va­can­cies avail­able to ap­ply for on the day, with ABMU, Blue­stone Se­cu­rity, Ca­reers Wales, Home Bar­gains, Kier Con­struc­tion, Learn Di­rect, PD Mor­gan Ltd, South Wales Po­lice and Tesco among the or­gan­i­sa­tions and busi­nesses of­fer­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties, sup­port and ad­vice.

Of­fi­cers from Brid­gend County Bor­ough Coun­cil’s HR and Bridges Into Work 2 teams will also be pro­vid­ing de­tails of any va­can­cies within the lo­cal au­thor­ity and will be on hand to ad­vise on the range of train­ing and as­sis­tance that is avail­able to help school and col­lege leavers as well as un­em­ployed peo­ple who are look­ing to get back into work.

Coun Hy­wel Wil­liams, deputy leader, said: “We are pleased to help pro­vide lo­cal job seek­ers with ex­pert ad­vice and sup­port to help them find work.”
