YOUNG Joshua Goode fired 40 points last Saturday off a 12 handicap to win a Yellow Box Stableford tournament at Southerndown.
A birdie on the par-five 13th hole allied to eight pars did the trick for him, and he had three points in hand over Christopher Embling rued a no score on the 13th hole after matching par on nine occasions.
Eleven pars was on the par 36 points card of B N Radley while Frank Bradshaw holed out for two on the 14th green having previously shot birdies on the first, sixth and eighth holes on his way to also matching par.
Jamie Keddle also got a two – his was also registered on the 14th hole – and he got 35 points along with Barrie Goode, Jon Goldsworthy and Jeremy Martin Smith who all finished one point ahead of Jason Jenkins.
Division Two was won by Allan Jenkins, who signed for 37 points, to finish in one point in front of three players - Gareth Parry, R H Thomas and Christopher Rees.
In the Ladies section, Diana Chinn last week shot 93-20-73 to win a September Medal competition at Southerndown.
