THIS year the Elvis Fes­ti­val – which runs from Fri­day to Sun­day – has a spe­cial fam­ily zone on the Es­planade of­fer­ing at­trac­tions suit­able for chil­dren.

Here is the fam­ily zone sched­ule for the big week­end: Satur­day 11am - Elvis Trib­ute Artists Noon - The Loren James Dance Com­pany

1pm - Best Dressed Houndog com­pe­ti­tion for dogs with Hope Res­cue

3pm - The Loren James Dance Com­pany

3.30pm – Wynne Roberts and The Voices Sun­day

10am – The GTFM Morn­ing Show fea­tur­ing RCT does Elvis

Noon – The Loren James Dance Com­pany 1pm - Elvis Trib­ute Artists 2.30pm – Sea­side Strings 3pm – The Loren James Dance Com­pany

The of­fi­cial Elvis Fes­ti­val shows are set to take place in the Grand Pav­il­ion as usual, in­clud­ing The Best Fes­ti­val Elvis heats and fi­nal and The Elvies, an award show for Elvis Trib­ute Artists from across the world.

In ad­di­tion the Hi Tide hosts more than 100 shows over the week­end, many with free ad­mis­sion, and more than 20 venues in and around the town form the Fringe Fes­ti­val, mak­ing Porth­cawl the largest Elvis event in Europe. Road clo­sures The Es­planade be­tween Porth­cawl Ma­rina and the Se­a­bank Ho­tel will be closed from 6am Satur­day to 2am on Sun­day. But it will be closed again be­tween 6am and mid­night on Sun­day.

The ma­jor­ity of the Eastern Prom­e­nade will be closed to ve­hi­cles ex­cept taxis, coaches and minibuses drop­ping peo­ple off to the event.

The Salt Lake car park will be open and ac­ces­si­ble.
