THIS year the Elvis Festival – which runs from Friday to Sunday – has a special family zone on the Esplanade offering attractions suitable for children.
Here is the family zone schedule for the big weekend: Saturday 11am - Elvis Tribute Artists Noon - The Loren James Dance Company
1pm - Best Dressed Houndog competition for dogs with Hope Rescue

3.30pm – Wynne Roberts and The Voices Sunday

The official Elvis Festival shows are set to take place in the Grand Pavilion as usual, including The Best Festival Elvis heats and final and The Elvies, an award show for Elvis Tribute Artists from across the world.
In addition the Hi Tide hosts more than 100 shows over the weekend, many with free admission, and more than 20 venues in and around the town form the Fringe Festival, making Porthcawl the largest Elvis event in Europe. Road closures The Esplanade between Porthcawl Marina and the Seabank Hotel will be closed from 6am Saturday to 2am on Sunday. But it will be closed again between 6am and midnight on Sunday.
The majority of the Eastern Promenade will be closed to vehicles except taxis, coaches and minibuses dropping people off to the event.
The Salt Lake car park will be open and accessible.
