TWO five year olds have danced their way onto the podium at a world dance championships.

Brooke Walters, five, a pupil at Caerau Primary School in Caerau, Maesteg, was crowned the under six open solo champion at the UDO World Street Dance Championships in Glasgow.

Brooke and fellow dancer Naomi Lewis, also five and a Caerau Primary pupil, also came second in the under six duo category.

Shelleyanne Walters, Brooke’s mum, said her daughter had been very shy and quiet before joining UDC Dance in Caerau.

“It’s been amazing watching her confidence grow,” she said.

She said at the competition in Glasgow there were crews competing from all over the world, but the girls put in top performances.

“Myself and Deborah Lewis, Naomi’s mum, are very proud mummies”, she said.

“A big thanks to all the coaches at UDC, Carl Tidball, Tracey Newman and Shauna Goldsworthy.
