There is a cof­fee morn­ing every Tues­day in the Smyrna Chapel vestry from 10am-12noon where stalls of pro­duce are also on of­fer.

Bible stud­ies take place on Thurs­days at 7.15pm and are led by Mar­lyn James and Dorothy Evans.

New­com­ers to the vil­lage of Penyfai are al­ways made very wel­come.

Wood­land Trust: Trustees and mem­bers have an­other vol­un­teer day af­ter the sum­mer hol­i­days and to start afresh in the wood­land on Septem­ber 24 from 10am-12noon, all are wel­come.

Aberken­fig Pub­lic Toi­lets: The re­open­ing of the Aberken­fig Toi­lets is un­der re­view by The New­cas­tle Higher Com­mu­nity Coun­cil.

The clerk to the Com­mu­nity Coun­cil John Rich­field has been in con­tact with the group man­ager of street works who ad­vised there is cur­rently no plans to re­open the toi­lets by Brid­gend County Bor­ough Coun­cil.

The mat­ter of the need for toi­lets that ev­ery­one can use will be on the agenda for the next meet­ing of the com­mu­nity coun­cil in Oc­to­ber.

Com­mu­nity Coun­cil: A full re­port will be given on crime fig­ures for Penyfai and Aberken­fig in the next Com­mu­nity Coun­cil meet­ing in Oc­to­ber

Play and Com­mu­nity Play­group: The play­group is open to chil­dren from two to four years of age and is held from 9.15am3pm in the af­ter­noon from Mon­day to Fri­day dur­ing term time.
