Man dies following ‘assault’
A MAN has died of his injuries following an alleged assault outside a hospital three weeks earlier.
Gavin Rees, 24, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with serious injuries after an incident which happened in a car park outside Maesteg Community Hospital at about 6.15pm on August 30.
He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday, September 20.
South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following Mr Rees’ death.
A police statement said: “A 44-year-old man from Llanharry, who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after the incident, remains on police bail while further inquiries are carried out.”
