Glamorgan Gazette - - Your Diary -

THE award-winning Maesteg Amateur Operatic Society (MAOS) will be performing The Snow Queen, a magical family musical by Peter Denyer, at Maesteg Town Hall next month.

The Llynfi Valley musical theatre company always presents a musical in October, a pantomime in February, carol concerts and various other shows throughout the year. It has a thriving membership which combines youth and experience.

The story of the Snow Queen, from an original fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, was first published in 1844 and has been adapted many times for the stage and screen.

It centres on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by two children.

MAOS is performing The Snow Queen at the town hall between Thursday, October 19, and Saturday, October 21, at 7.15pm. There will also be a performance at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets cost £10, £8 concessions or £32 for a family of four from Maesteg Library on 01656 815995 and maestegtownhall.com
