Sad News: It is with re­gret we re­port the death of Jim Crago late of South­ern­down.

Jim and his wife Ruth (who died last year) went to live in Spain after re­tire­ment hav­ing kept Frolics then a B&B in South­ern­down.

Sin­cere con­do­lences to son Martin, grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren.

Brid­gend Civic Trust: Another se­ries of guided walks around Brid­gend will com­mence this Satur­day, Septem­ber 30, and this year will ex­plore the north­ern part of the town.

St John’s House: One of the old­est build­ings in Brid­gend, this 15th cen­tury house on New­cas­tle Hill is open free of charge on the last Satur­day of each month ex­cept De­cem­ber.

Pre­vi­ously known as Church House this me­dieval town house, which may have of­fered food and shel­ter to trav­ellers, is well pre­served and a fas­ci­nat­ing place to visit.

Boys’ Brigade: Mem­bers of 2nd Llantwit Ma­jor Boys Brigade Com­pany Sec­tion will be work­ing to­wards Duke of Ed­in­burgh Awards.
