Cho­ral evening raises £3,000 for re­search

AN es­ti­mated £3,000 has been raised for stem cell re­search which could help those di­ag­nosed with Parkin­son’s dis­ease in the fu­ture.

The cash was raised by a sold-out cho­ral evening or­gan­ised by David Burt, of Brid­gend Male Choir, fol­low­ing his di­ag­no­sis with the pro­gres­sive neu­ro­log­i­cal con­di­tion.

The choir joined forces with the Brid­gend group of Parkin­son’s UK for the con­cert at the Beth­le­hem Church Life Cen­tre in Cefn Cribwr.

The choir, with Stephanie Bai­ley con­duct­ing and Ste­wart Roberts ac­com­pa­ny­ing, per­formed along with Maesteg so­prano Rhian Hughes and the Beth­le­hem Church Life Cen­tre’s own Garage Gospel Choir.

David also re­ceived over­whelm­ing sup­port from busi­nesses with spon­sor­ship.
