Char­ity re­veals 20th an­niver­sary events

PORTH­CAWL char­ity Sus­tain­able Wales has an­nounced how it will be cel­e­brat­ing its 20th an­niver­sary.

The ‘Coun­ter­point’ talks fea­ture lead­ing speak­ers, all ex­perts in their fields.

The three talks take place at the Green Room, 5, James Street, Porth­cawl CF36 3BG.

On Fri­day, October 13 at 8pm Pro­fes­sor Allan Wil­liams will give a talk on ma­rine lit­ter and the prob­lem with the break­down of plas­tics.

On Fri­day, October 27 at 8pm Pro­fes­sor Mer­ryn Hutch­ings of Lon­don Metropoli­tan Univer­sity is set to de­liver a talk en­ti­tled ‘Are schools now exam fac­to­ries? What are we do­ing to chil­dren’s ed­u­ca­tion?’

On Fri­day, Novem­ber 3, Kevin Sin­nott dis­cusses his art and the ex­tra­or­di­nary gallery he has cre­ated in Pon­ty­cym­mer.

The cel­e­bra­tions cul­mi­nate at the Stage Door, Grand Pav­il­ion, Thurs­daym Novem­ber 16, be­tween 6.30pm and10pm.

There will be mu­sic and po­etry and a per­for­mance by Porth­cawl’s own ‘One Time Alive’, launch­ing their third al­bum, ‘Red Shift’.
