St John’s House: One of the old­est build­ings in Brid­gend, this 15th cen­tury house on New­cas­tle Hill is open free of charge on the last Satur­day of each month ex­cept De­cem­ber.

Pre­vi­ously known as Church House this me­dieval town house, which may have of­fered food and shel­ter to trav­ellers, is well pre­served and a fas­ci­nat­ing place to visit.

Her­itage Coast: At the re­cent Com­mit­tee Meet­ing it was de­cided to hold an open day in Jan­uary with a talk and quiz for en­ter­tain­ment to­gether with re­fresh­ments. Mem­bers learned of a do­na­tion in mem­ory of Coun Tony and Mrs Faith Wil­liams who were both in­volved with the Her­itage Coast from the be­gin­ning and for whom a memo­rial is planned.

Golden Wed­ding: Best wishes to David and Janet Goldswor­thy of South­ern­down who cel­e­brated their 50th Wed­ding An­niver­sary with fam­ily and friends on Satur­day, Septem­ber 23.

Con­grat­u­la­tions: Many happy re­turns to Val Humphries for her birth­day for Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 27 when she cel­e­brated at home with her fam­ily.
