PENYBONT .................... 2 CARMARTHEN TOWN . 3

BILLY Lever pulled levers late on for Carmarthen Town to book a place in the next round at the expense of shell-shocked Penybont, writes Tony Poole.

With three minutes to go and the Bont babes 2-1 up it seemed as if their name would go into the hat for the next-round draw.

But Lever then levered the advantage away from the Bridgend super club with an 87th-minute equaliser.

And with extra-time seemingly looming, Lever once more struck to send Bont crashing out of the premier youth cup competition.

Earlier, Bont took a 26th-minute lead through Tom Davies with Cai Ev- ans responding for the Old Gold youngsters in the 44th minute.

But the half drew to a pulsating end when Josh Jones scored in added on time to send Bont in with a 2-1 advantage.

However, it wasn’t to be for Bont, and they eventual- ly bowed out in bitterly disappointing circumstances.

And Penybont Over50’s crashed to a 5-1 defeat in the Welsh Veterans League against Continental at Llanrumney Playing Fields. The scorer for the Bampy Bonts was powerful Mark Watts.
