CEFN knew they were in for a tough trip away to classy Vardre, and with sev­eral play­ers pulling out in the morn­ing through in­jury and fam­ily com­mit­ments, it was tes­ti­mony to coaches Stephen Gil­lard and Mark White to still be in a po­si­tion to put out a strong squad for this test­ing fix­ture.

A nervy open­ing for Cefn was soon laid to rest when all ac­tion pocket pow­er­house blind­side flanker Karl Davies cap­i­talised on a Vardre mis­take to go over for

the first try of the game. With both sides in­tent on at­tack­ing, it was end to end stuff.
