ANNA-ROSE Mer­chant last Sun­day took the 107th stag­ing of Brid­gend Ju­nior 2k Parkrun in New­bridge Fields that at­tracted an amazing 115 young com­peti­tors.

It was the fourth Brid­gend suc­cess for An­naRose, and a win­ning time of 8 min­utes 3 sec­onds was just four sec­onds out­side her per­sonal best.

Brid­gend col­league and twice-win­ner Joshua Mor­gan fol­lowed her home in 8:19 from Matthew Bridg- es 8:34, Dy­lan Jones 8:52, Mia Allen (Brid­gend) 9:01, To­mas Clarke 9:04, Jes­sica Craw­ley 9:06, Ge­or­gia Smele (both Brid­gend) 9:09, Lily Stephens 9:13 and Abra­ham MatthewsWinch pb 9:16.

Also un­der the 10-minute mark were Ryan Wil­son 9:22, Joseph Lewis pb 9:24, Reg­gie Hyde-Jones 9:30, Euan Jenk­ins 9:35, Luke Wood­house (Cardiff Archers) pb 9:36, Ethan Wy­att 9:41, El­liott Jenk­ins 9:51, Grace James pb 9:51 and Freya Allen (Cor­nelly Strid­ers) 9:58.

A fur­ther 15 young run­ners achieved per­sonal best times and they came from Fraser Hig­gin­son, Libby Cooper, Zaine Col­ley, Mor­gan Laity, Emily McDon­agh, Fin­ley Wil­liams, Joseph Goule (Porth­cawl Run­ners), Jack Wood­house (Cardiff Archers), Theo Windibank, Ben Bai­ley, Harri Thomas, Alex Rhys Harding, Ava-Louise Win­stone, El­lis Hop­per and Chloe Tay­lor (Og­more Phoenix Run­ners).
